I don’t murder people. And, oh, a picture of a cat!

Most of you (that may or may not still be with me at this point) are probably wondering where I’ve been. It’s been a weird past few weeks. Of course. This is me we’re talking about. I just didn’t want any of you to think I’d forgotten I have a blog. I didn’t.

I’ve just had this nosebleed thing going on. Like where my nose just starts bleeding & won’t stop. Then I look like I murdered an entire country & things get really ugly after that. Apparently, I busted some blood vessel in my nose & well, its causing me some issues. And tissues. Anyway, it’s caused my energy level to be really low & I’ve been feeling kinda lousy & my face has been sorta swelly. You get the idea. Not pretty. Literally.

Now that we’re done talking about gross things I can show you a picture of Maya! Yay! Ending on a cute note!

More pics are probably to come? I don’t know. She hates when my camera goes “click”. She also gets all diva on me when I try to get pictures of her. We’ll see.

Hope all is well in your world,

Yesterday I scored 2 burritos & took photographs.

Not of the burritos, that is. Sorry. Nonetheless I’d consider yesterday a success. I like burritos & I like photography.

Our resident garden that’s only like 3 blocks from the house is in full bloom & is absolutely beautiful. I could just go out there & spend an entire day I love it so much. I spent yesterday morning down there wondering around looking lost with burrito breath.

Here’s some of what I got:

I have a busy weekend planned of visiting a couple friends a few towns over & perhaps meeting up with my Mom for a visit, so I’ll see you guys on Monday. Happy weekending.

Tenacious D, the frog of destiny

Friday night as I was locking up the dress shop I noticed 2 beady eyes staring up at me, so I screamed (duh). Turned out, those beady eyes weren’t a flesh-eating vampire bug, but instead, a green tree frog. Heading back inside, I shouted to the girls that were closing with me Who wants to catch a frog for my husband?

I work with all women. Girly-girl women. So I figured the response would be screams & giggles, but much to my surprise, 10 seconds later we had a shoebox with holes punched in it & gloves & we were catching ourselves a frog. Screams & giggles were now in order as the frog jumped onto the glass door. We caught him! Oh…nope, back on the door. We were all running around trying to get the darn thing in the box. 15 minutes, 4 employees, 1 customer later we had the frog & I was on the phone with J-Bird telling him I had a surprise for him.

I brought him home to an excited J-Bird, but ultimately, we decided not to keep Tenacious D. We decided he belonged in the wild with his other totally rad frog friends. I (of course) snapped a photo before we set him loose.

I’m sure the other people walking were making fun of me.

The weather here in NC has been beautiful (& teetering on HOT for the past few days, not gonna lie), so for the past 2 mornings, I’ve went out to take pictures. We are lucky enough to live near a rose garden & no matter where I start out walking to, I always end up there.

Upon landing in the rose garden yesterday morning, I was delighted to see that some of the roses were starting to bloom! I ended up spending most of my morning down there, wandering around, taking photos & just being in my own little world. Which is quite unusual for me, I typically hate being alone. Maybe being alone isn’t so bad, though, no one to make fun of me (to my face anyway) for running from the bees. Or getting my flip-flop stuck in the mulch. Or spinning in circles when I run into a spider web. Perhaps I should stop there & share some of my fairytale like morning with you all.

I get spazy taking pictures of random people, so I give you…flowers.

As you guys know, one of my many interests is photography. I like photographing people a lot (mostly because it has the potential to make me money) but I usually end up shooting flowers or plant life or things like that. Thing is, I haven’t really been living here long enough to make friends that I feel comfortable enough photographing yet & I get all spazy taking pictures of random people. I know that flowers & plant life can get old & cliché pretty quickly, but I try to make it as interesting as possible. Let me know what you guys think.

So, this morning I went on a walk (gasp!) & actually got some pretty good photos. I’m withholding the best of the best in case I want to use them for my “professional portfolio” because I don’t like to use them 2 different places. So, I give you, the 3 & 4 bests.

On the walk back, I almost got attacked by a bee & I saw a guy dancing on his porch. It was quite the eventful morning.

The flowers are confused. Polar bears are dying. Welcome to global warming.

If you’ve dropped by my handy “about me” section (and actually read it, oh you haven’t? shame on you!), then you’ve seen that I’m interested in photography. Yea I guess I consider myself a photographer of sorts, I mean I worked at a photography studio for 6 months & I’ve photographed a wedding, but its more like a side hobby. I don’t claim to be terrific at it, but I love it.

Around here (here being North Carolina), we’ve had a mild winter. Actually, I don’t even think you can call it winter. I mean, it only barely reaches below freezing in the dead of night & I haven’t had to scrape frost off my car not once. Actually, most days, the high is in the 50s or 60s. On Wednesday (which, in case you do not have a calendar handy, let me help you out, that’s Feb. 1st.), the high here is 72 degrees. Seriously? Alright. Its Spring. I called it. The birds are a chirping, the flowers a blooming & there are bees already out. Thank you global warming. You have officially killed Winter, you murderer. Anyway, I don’t know where all my readers live so I figured you guys needed pics for proof. You’re welcome.

Enjoy.
